This is the WTF Where they thinking? WTF Are they doing? WTF Who do they think they are? kinds of stuff. Stuff I find around sl that I think is just out of place.

Today is a WTF? kind of day. I have a Linden home and my neighbors are pretty smart, discrete and very quiet. I have no complaints on them.I do have a problem when no one cares about their homes. Linden homes are no mod. You can't have a club in them and you can't sell stuff from them, although I have seen both in a lot of homes. With Linden homes, you can not have skyboxes above or below the house. I have seen a number of homes with skyboxes above.You can see on the worldmap several places I marked off including the one circled in red. The pic below is a picture of that skybox.This box covers at least five other homes down below. If I was a neighbor whose home was under that thing, I'd be unhappy that they rezzed a skybox when I can't and the fact that it could lag the sim. I'd be AR'ing that thing each time they rezzed it.Thankfully, it's not over my home nor is it in my sim. I'm just happy my neighbors are sane and smart people.

This isn't much of a start, but it is a start. The pic isn't much and is kinda dark, but it is spur of the moment.Any New Years predictions?One, mesh will become the new sculpty and they will resolve any issues that may come up. Furries will lose some clothes depending on the avie.Two, more gamming ideas and tech will come from both the new Lindens that joined last year and whose names I can't remember right now.

What dreams may come.The past three mornings I've been having some death themed dreams. They had some spots of color like red. Colors in dreams represent energy, emotions, and vibes.Before these dreams I wasn't sleeping good at all.One dream was about demons and vampires. The vampires were standing in my closet and then the demons would appear. At one point a vampire and demon became one. They merged because the vampire was in the way. The vampire grew wings, horns, longer teeth and longer claws.He seemed like the ultimate vampire. There was the color red on the demoms. I also had little white mice with wings that would bit. Not a big bite, just a nibble. The mice had wings and if they didn't look so bad, they would be cute. They kepted biting my fingers as if they expected to do a lot of dammage.Demons - To see demons in your dream represent ignorance, negativity, distress or your shadow self. Dearest readers and followers

On Aug of '09 my rl mother was diagnosed with dementia a form of alzheimer's disease. I had been taking care of her up until February of this year when she had a UTI, a urinary tract infection, and was sent to the hospital. She stayed for a week and was released to a care center not far from me. She remains there today as I can not take care of her at home anymore.Today, I am currently looking for a job and new place to live as I have to give up my mother's house to keep her where she is. Currently I am looking for work and a new place to live.For 20 something years my mother had owned and run a very successful in home business designing monuments or tombstones. Now she lays in a bed not knowing whats going on around her.There will come a time when I won't be in sl if at all. So if you do see me in world, just know I'm working things out and need some something whatever that may be. It's been a good five years of fun, fur and friends.In the coming months and years I will keep up the blog posting rl stuff, sl stuff and medical stuff.Let's all hope for a cure of some sort and a better tomorrow.

Furry avies in Second Life

Furies

There are many different kinds of animal furies. Felines, woodland animals, horses, domestic animals, bunnies (my favorites). Fantasy animals such as unicorns, dragons, griffins, phoenixes. Dinosaurs and birds. Even Pokemon, Digimon, Sonic and Mario Bros avies. There are even God furs (Anubis).
There's even some made up but fantastic fur avies such as the Crux and Surgal.

Lots of furies in second life, but not as many as there should be. There's a small handful of fish and sea creatures. It'd be great to see crabs, lobsters, sea horses, shrimps and the list goes on. Maybe fish like koi fish and goldfish. There could even be squids and octopus. Many new ideas for items to be made for such avies. A portable tank of water so that the fish could live and breathe on land as well as new RP ideas. The octopus and squid crosses a genre or two sexually like water sports and tentacles.
There's a few venders in sl that sells sharks, a whale, a eel and a very few others.

How about insects? Insects have to mate too. The female praying mantis mates with the male and then eats him to fill his dead body up with her eggs. That's disturbing on so many levels grant it, but it covers vorarephilia (a sexual fetish and paraphilia where arousal occurs from the idea of being eaten).
There are a few other insects that are like this. And you have to admit that the look of a mantis is really cool. Spiders and scorpions are cool looking too. So far only two venders sell one insect each.

Some more bird avies would be nice. A pink flamingo, Thunderbird, dodo bird to name a few.
Maybe even some ducks and chickens. Since there's some dinosaurs, how bout a pterodactyl?

Farm animals would be good avies for kid furs. Little ducklings running around in a daycare?
Yellow chicks at Easter or any other time? Hell, how bout a little egg with chick legs and a dark window to look out of. Little piggies going to school? Of course there could also be the adults.
A adult pig could be a wild pig or boar or warthog looking to rape their next prey.

Why not some extinct animals such as a wooly mammoth. Someone was sell a sabretooth lion at one point, but alas, I can not find it anymore. Dodos, Tasmanian wolf, the quagga, Caspian tiger, stellers sea cow are all interesting animals that shouldn't be over looked.

Another bunch of animals that shouldn't be over looked are cryptozoological creatures. I'd buy a Bigfoot avie or mothman or a chupacabra avie. These animals could be fantasy type or monsters. Another fantasy creature could be the werecat.
There's plenty of werewolves and lycans out there. The chupacabra could be a vampire. If we go with vampires then we should add incubus and succubi. But I'm straying into demons and humanoid looking avies.

Also, if we mention the moth man then we'd be straying into aliens. There are a few alien furie avies. Mostly made up or modeled from anime.

There's areas of our planet that we don't know so much as we haven't explored them too much if at all.

If you want these animals out in venders, then you need to NC or IM the creators of furies and ask them for these avies till they do make them. My point of this post is to get the venders in SL to start thinking out of the box when it comes to animal avies. Why improve on avies that everyone has already made and improved on? The animal kingdom is bigger than the woods. I haven't even said anything about the ape family.

For me as a furry avatar collector, I'll keep a lookout for more avies. In the meantime I'll try my hand at making my own Kumamon Digimon.

The Green Lantern Core (GLC) was started in July 2004 as a simple Green Lantern fan group and has since evolved into a multi-national public service organization. We are a tightly-knit group of like-minded residents who volunteer our time assisting others and helping to make the Second Life experience a positive one for all.

We are dedicated to helping wherever we can, be it second life or real life and the battle against Cancer is one felt strongly in both worlds. A Green Lantern is defined by his or her willpower, and people with strong will have come out on top time and time again against this. It's a great cause, and one that exemplifies what we believe in.

The Hair HUD

I was having a little problem with IW's veiwer. It seems that hair was in a place where a HUD would go.

I was told to do the following:

1. Set bandwith to 1200
2. Set cache size as high as you can. I set mine to 980
3. Clear cache
4. Re-log

I was also told to use Imprudence veiwer, but was also told the InWorldz veiwer is better than Imprudence. I guess that's your preference.

There was the same problem on another grid and was told to just hide HUDs.

Whatever works for you.

Rage quit FTW!!!!

I'm rage quitting Second Life. Let me explain....

It all started with Estarn Kenyon my co-club owner. He has Asperger syndrome, which seems to be a social problem of his. Meaning he can't interact with others well.
That should be no excuse. He had a rezz day party not long ago in sl at his club.
A fried of mine went and bought (or made, I forget which) a item for Estarn.

Instead of accepting the gift and going on with life he got pissed off at her and eventually told her to "kill herself". Now my friend has been having a lot of medical problems since January. I worry about her a lot and hope that this post finds her in better spirits.

It makes me mad that he says stupid shit to her and is still in SL. I doubt he has this condition that some people say he does. I think he's a rich, spoiled brat.

At one time he asked me for Lindens (money) to help pay for such things as the club stream and parcel rent for the club. Then he and his brother asked for money to pay for their avatars and such which at first I was ok with. I was buying avatars and such as well. After a while it just got annoying.

Recently his rl brother, which also runs around sl, came to my linden home to try to talk to me. I'm not having any of it, no more.

If he has what he claims to have, then I would think he'd get some help with it instead of sitting on his ass running around sl. In fact, he has a lot of different interests according to his profile. Instead he's into sl.

I don't wish anything bad for the guy, I just hope he gets some rl help.
In the meantime, I'll be out of sl and into the old grid called rl grid (real life grid). I'll be taking care of my rl mother who has dementia a form of alzheimer's disease. I will continue to post here for whatever interests me.

WOW! What wired and weird sims these are. It's a bit interactive and way out there in cyberspace. Kinda like his mind I guess. Here island is joined with the sims Torley and Is. The sims Is and Here island don't have anything as of this posting, but Torley sim does and you need veiwer 2 to watch the screens.

I like what people do in second life and other grids. Places like this is what I look for. If it was more interactive then it'd be better. There's glow, media screens, animated textures and a bit of fun.

What more do you need? Homer Simpson maybe?

Drilling for prims

Have you ever wondered where prims come from? Well, they come from a prim drilling platform. There are a few of these platforms around sl.

Ewwww, green sludge... stuff.

The pipe runs under water through 3 1/2 sims. The pipe comes out in behind a shopping area and in the area of the Hobo hang out.

All in all, it's someone's cool and funny idea of where prims come from. Near the end is his house both out and in the water. Also, there seems to be a water race track set up but I didn't see anyone racing.

My brother does, but I won't tell him much about it. I don't want him to ruin my fun.

My mom has dementia which is a type of Alzheimer's disease. She never would have understood it if I told her.

I have a cousin who told me, brought me in and got me started in sl.
She left to get in shape and is now happily married.

I had a rl girlfriend who was a WoW player. She didn't really like sl.
She told me the good stuff was too expensive. Meh.

A good family friend knows about sl. He's ok with it.

Meta7's new TOS

There is a new TOS for Meta7. Soon for the whole grid we will have mature and adult ratings. Groups and avie names will change. Sims will change from PG< Mature and Adult to Mature and/or Adult.

I can now send everyone on my friends list a request to join my group.

But what groups should I join?

A group for bloggers, one for machinima, a builders group, any sculpty and/or texture group, a dj group, some more clubs to keep up with them, some misc groups that sounds/looks cool on my profile.

There's so many groups to join that I don't know what group will help me.

Other grids have more group space. Meta7 has at least 100. I know I could use 100 groups in sl.

Happy Up Coming New Years.

So many more grids to explore. So little time to do it in.

Linden Labs has a new CEO, is merging the teen grid, will introduce mesh to our world.
Also, we'll have more group space added to our profiles. Not as much as Meta7, but it'll do. So starting out the new year right in SL.

Meta7 is re a-ranging the sims so that all the adult stuff is on another grid and the rest will be on another. They still have bugs and kinks to work out of the grid, but things are looking up.

OS Grid is introducing mesh.

In Worldz is moving along good. IW is growing by leaps and bounds.

What's my next grid?

I have left SL but have come for a visit to beg everyone to please help me.

My daughters best friend has been missing from Joplin, Missouri now for 6 days. We have gone into homes of suspected gang members, drug dealers, homes of these peoples parents, the schools, businesses, we have put fliers everywhere.

There are rumors of her in Oklahomia, Detroit, Kansas City as well as in Joplin still.

Please help us!

The only way to find this girl is for the world to help. She has family and friends and we love her so very much!

The Lindens are making a little update to the veiwer soon. We will be getting Display names over our avies. I think it'll be great but with all new things comes some bad too. Will griefters use this to bother us? I'm sure yes is the answer to that. But you can always check thier profiles to make sure who is who.

Another change that the Lindens are doing will be to merge the teen grid to the main grid. Only the ages of 16 and 17 will be apart of the merge. The rest of the underage teens will have to be cut from SL all together. Only the PG areas will be open for the underage. No other grid that I know of had a underage grid.
There may be ways of getting to the adult and mature areas that are out there.

What ever changes the Lindens are doing will pave the way for other grids to follow.

My blog turns 3 yrs old

Not my birthday, my blog's birthday.

Three years ago I started to blog my fun times in second life (TM) and have had so much fun doing it. Through good times and bad I've made note of all things great and small. Looking back, I can see now some posts I wish I hadn't posted and some I wish I made better. There's always room for improvement and growth.

With that said, I have made my blog a better look and will continue to do so as time goes on. I have now moved onto three other grids and will blog about those soon as well. With my blog I will try to show the many other grids that exists in the Meta verse. I’m like a virtual reporter letting everyone know of this different means of social networking.

Not to worry though as I will still be in SL most of the time. In fact I’ll be posting a few things in the coming days and weeks on my own in world fun.

There’s always more fun to be had.

They closed some offices in Erope today and at least 100 Lindens lost thier jobs rl.
According to a friend in sl, they are sending out black armbands to everyone.

A day to remember friends, young and old. I would have liked to send a candle out to sea with a friend's name on it again this year, but I was disapointed when I saw there was no place set up like last years.

A home for a nome

Premuim members of sl can pick a home for free.

Yes, the stories of free land comes to my mind. I'm not old enough to have seen them first hand, but I remember the stories of how sl members got the land for free.
At that time it was new territory sl was. Now you can get a free home if you've signed up for the premuim membership.

I think there are strings attached.

In the meantime, I'm gonna look for a nice castle to live in. Some of the themes available are Japan style homes, loft style homes, A frame homes, quads, and fantasy type homes. I just wish I could build my cookie jar there and put a skybox in the sky.
The homes are too close for that though. I may end up with a hobbit's themed home.

All homes are not furnished and you can't pick a home next to your friend's home.

They are in mature sims as well, so be aware there will be kid avies mixed in as well.

Gemini says there will be more stuff the SLC (Second Life Children) will be doing in the future. The new place, which is a old place according to the SLC elders, also has the famous tree house. The place offers a stage for future events. a renovated tree house for story time, arcade games, the adult to kid avie transmogrifier box and the info on kid avies as always.

Speaking of avies, I'm into a website called Avatars United (AU). It's a myspace for avatars of online games. Games like Wolrd of Warcraft, Eve, SL, etc.

There's a thing to it though. Linden Labs, owners of SL, have bought AU.
Reasons have yet to be said, to me anyway. Now people can hook up for anything here.
And it also has a neat little hud in world that acts like a Twitter hud.
It was created by a resident and it lets you post stuff to your profile like where your at and what your doing at the moment. It's called Blip and I just blipped that I was blogging and left my blogg addy.

And that brings me to my next topic: Second Love. Second Love was created by a
resident also, a fellow kid/teen avie in fact. It's a 2 part hud that you pick up here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Whippersnapper/160/155/22 for free. It's still getting the bugs worked out right now. It offers four options: Friendship, Romance, Sex and Adoption. All of which should not be confused with the others.

You should PLEASE consider this stuff:

1). Contrary to what most people outside second life think, there is more to SL than just SEX. Second Life (SL) child avatars ARE 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER IN REAL LIFE - this is ROLEPLAYING childhood and it's sooo much fun! You get to be silly all the time! You can get adopted & hang out with other kids & go to school & whatever else you can dream up!

If you're new to being a kid (or teen!) here's what's up - YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING SEXUALLY-RELATED WHATSOEVER. If you want to be a kid AND an adult then make 2 avatar accounts. Just do it.

If a child avatar is seen around things like sexual furniture, photos, naked people, etc. - ANYTHING you can think of that's of a sexual nature - Linden Labs can and will delete your account and could even ban your COMPUTER from logging into Second Life.

There will be no questions asked - you get caught like that and you're gone - as the Terms of Service for Second Life states:

(TOS - 2.6 Linden Lab may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without refund or obligation to you.)

Don't be nude in public EVER - if you wanna change clothes, find a private place - if you go to Search and type in "changing rooms" there are places to go to! A lot of stores have changing rooms too!

DO NOT join any groups that have sexually-related content. This will cause some places to ban you right away, not to mention a good majority of Second Life people will not respect you & may be mean to you. You don't need groups like that anyways - you're playing a CHILD!

It was discovered that places had been created by ADULT avatar's who were interested in luring child avatars to engage in sexual activities. The child avatars who fell for this ended up having their pictures posted all over the net and in the end they deleted their accounts and left SL leaving behind a media circus. Some people are still mad at child avatars because they wrongfully assume we're all out to be pervs when WE'RE NOT!

Linden Labs polices prohibits these sorts of places & if someone asks you to do anything sexual you should abuse report (AR) them. To file an abuse report, hit the "Help" tab at the top of your scren and then hit "Report Abuse" - it's a very simple lil form that'll pop up. Then just get away from that perv!

SL residents have been told to abuse report Underage Users. There is a Second Life for people 18 and older (where you are) and a "teen grid" for people who are under 18 in real life. Sometimes REAL LIFE underagers get into the 18-and-older area of Second Life.
Because of this, some people are ignorant and will think you are underage just because you are roleplaying a child. Linden Lab would like ALL child avatars to state their REAL WORLD AGE in your profile to try and prevent mistaken reports.

There is a recently discovered exploit within Emerald that can quite literally allow someone with an appropriately equipped client to strip your entire inventory. Egregiously bad flaw, kids... wait until Modular sorts this one out.

Gee, I wish I knew about this before it happened to me.

I had problems with my account night before last with my inventory not loading.
Don't know how it happened, but it did.

Top 10 Linden Myths

1. Lindens have X-Ray vision

This is untrue. Their ability to see you naked has nothing to do with X-Rays.

2. There are only ten Lindens and they rotate through many accounts to make it seem like there are more.

This is untrue. There are over 50 Lindens who cycle through many accounts to make it seem like there are more.

3. Lindens have the ability to turn your avatar into a fish.

This is untrue. Lindens abilities to turn people into other forms of life is limited to changing you to a toad.

4. Lindens put their pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else.

In 2005 this became a myth when FeeFieFoeFanna Linden perfected the first dual legged virtual trouser fitting device (using only four prims!). In 2007 it became a complete impossibility when the official uniform Linden dresscode mandated a nice plaid kilt or skirt.

5. All new Lindens traditionally make a bear to give SL citizens as tokens of goodwill.

The real purpose of the bear making tradition is to provide the existing Lindens with an opportunity to snicker at someone faced with an impossible task and hurl snipes about prims being upside down and warnings that the team might have to get out the 'desuckifier' tool.

6. Lindens hold office hours to keep SL citizens informed, and to solicit opinions about future developments in SL.

The real reason for office hours is to allow them to test new features on you such as the ability to see you naked or turn you into a salamander.

7. Lindens smell like jellyfish

This is highly unlikely, although this is very difficult to confirm. This rumour probably keeps circulating because of the obvious tentacles visible on most Lindens.

8. Lindens must receive a bio implant in order to become a Linden

The bio implant is completely optional for most Lindens. The implant is only required for positions that directly affect grid operation such as LSL execution Lindens, Physics solving Lindens, and of course the Lindens who pedal the generators powering the grid server.

9. Everything that is said in public or private chat is recorded and a secret team of Lindens goes through it all looking for national security concerns and juicy blackmail tidbits.

Hahahah!! This is totally laughable. Seriously.. and I'm not just saying that. Why would I say it was laughable if it wasn't huh? Think about that.. what do I stand to gain by trying to convince you this is not true. So please.. believe me.. I implore you.. don't believe this myth. At the dawn of the internet era, BBS-users discovered that the lack of face-to-face communication resulted in conflict when, for example, parodies or humorous comments were taken seriously. Even telephone users could use voice tone to indicate anger, sarcasm or humor.

As such, they needed to find a way to express the tone of the messages they were posting. No need to go into how exactly it happened, but the first emoticons were a godsend, and prevented many an awkward, confusing or flammable situation. Over the years, with the evolution of the BBS into the Internet, and then the explosion of online websites, forums and chat interfaces, the proto-emoticon regularly evolved into a myriad sets, mostly unique to their hosts, and even developed into codes that were translated by the communication engine into images and sometimes even animations.

As the environment molds evolving lifeforms to its demands, each online community tends to mold the emoticon concept to its own needs and characteristics. The online community of anime fandom is no exception. The creativity and experimentation of fellow anime fans has given rise to the following set of anime emoticons that have withstood the test of time.

There is a large variety of expressions from which to choose, and not all of them require acquaintance with anime emotional conventions (no, not that kind of convention ^_^). For the most part, anime emoticons let the eyes do the talking, which comes across as natural. And of course, within the anime fan community, their use is a means of acknowledging fellowship and belonging.

I hope this little illustrated guide encourages more of us to use these emoticons among ourselves, and among outsiders when appropriate.

I own 40 sims and pay Linden over $6,000 per month for them. During my time in Sl i have witnessed a successive chain of horrible decisions by the SL executive team. Some of which are not simply bad business decisions - but totally inexplicable from logical analysis; however, with your decision to end the Mentor program you have simply outdone yourselves. You take 3500 or so people who are committed to helping others - and throw that talent, expertise, and experience out the window. What in the world is wrong with you people? Are you simply idiots as some say? You claim that the Mentor program is simply too large to administer: well, get a clue. Reduce the number of Mentors to a managable level. Take the best of the best ( Admittedly I am not one of those) and get an actual adult

Basicly it's like this:

LL are going to introduce some charges:

* 99L per month for freebie listings
* They are charging a MINIMUM 3 lindens surcharge on all items sold for 1 linden or more
* 10L per item per month for anything over $1L

For example: if you have 10 items on there, you will now have to pay $1200L per year to have them on SLX or if you have 100 items, thats $12,000L per year

And freebies don't get listed in search or anything

All I have to say is Content creators and website builders, come to gether and create your own sites to sell stuff. I'm sure there will be other like minded people out there that will work on sites to sell their stuff.

Also, go find a Linden and ask them what's going on?
